Gala to benefit a cure for cystic fibrosis

It's a beautiful thing when people come together for a serious cause. And it's a rare thing when that event raises $400,000 in just its second year. It's just what happened last year at The Allison Companies Breath of Life Gala presented by Moss Motors. They hope this year will be even bigger and better.

The event to benefit a cure for cystic fibrosis began after Allison Companies chairman Steve Orlando's granddaughter was diagnosed. Bella Reed is thriving in the face of the diagnosis and the event is one her family hopes will equal a cure one day.

The event is slated for Friday at 7 p.m. at River Oaks with food from the culinary master Brian Blanchard with wine from Glazer's. The Good Feelin' Band will be jamming thanks to The Mike Mosing Family. A silent auction full of goodies will be up for bid and a live auction on a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250 Sedan means you could drive away in style.
