Could River Ranch restaurant be the next star?

Preliminary talks are taking place between Ruffino's on the River and an undisclosed reality TV series from the A&E network. Owner Ruffin Rodrigue was unable to share details with ABiz, but he did say the network sought out the popular Lafayette riverfront location.
He also says the proposed reality show will not be filmed in Lafayette, even if Ruffino's is chosen. "The show is not about Lafayette or any other city; [it] won't be filmed here. Different concept," he says.
Another Ruffino's rep tells ABiz the River Ranch eatery, which serves seafood, steaks and Italian dishes, is one of 14 contenders nationwide A&E is considering for its show, which would revolve around both the front of the house and kitchen aspects of the business.
Look for updates on the development from ABiz as details are released from A&E and Ruffino's on the River.
"We should know more within the next few weeks," Rodrigue says.
