Party Girl

Party Girl loves to hit the circuit and check out as many events as possible in an evening, but I just couldn't tear myself away from the Tinsel and Treasures Sponsor Party held Wednesday, Aug. 8. I joined more than 100 others at a la carte in anticipation of the annual shopping extravaganza scheduled Sept. 20-22 at the Cajundome Convention Center. Hosting this fabulous event was none other than the Junior League of Lafayette, whose sole purpose that night was to recognize the sponsors that will make the 14th annual Tinsel and Treasures possible. To date, the Junior League has raised in excess of $2 million through the success of Tinsel and Treasures. Far from the traditional banquet, the owners of a la carte out did themselves with decorations. Several guests remarked how beautiful everything was; it almost looked like a wedding reception! Multiple appetizers and delectable dishes were on hand, and I got my fill with shrimp cocktail and crab claws. The dress code was business casual, and Brother and Catherine Abdalla, Roy Hollard, Joe Moseley, Debbie Foreman, Randy Foreman, Angela and Brady Mills, and Mike and Naomi Maraist dressed the part perfectly. I look forward to any event the Junior League ladies put together; they have lots of style, and when it comes to raising money, they're in a league of their own!
