Americans for Prosperity is sending the pledge to state lawmakers this week, hoping to shore up opposition to Medicaid expansion bills before the legislative session begins March 10.
Phillip Joffrion, director of the AFP state chapter, says the organization will have events across seven cities starting next week to outline its opposition to the expansion of the government-subsidized health insurance program.
Supporters of Medicaid expansion say would it improve health care for thousands in Louisiana, with the federal government paying most of the cost.
Opponents call it too costly and say it would add people to a failed insurance program.
