Scholarship honors memory of Jerry Reaux

MidSouth Bank President and CEO Rusty Cloutier and the Reaux family say the fund will help a student studying finance at UL Lafayette.

MidSouth Bank President and CEO Rusty Cloutier and the Reaux family believe one of the best ways to honor Jerry Reaux would be to extend a helping hand to a student studying finance at UL Lafayette, where Jerry himself earned a bachelor's degree in finance in 1984.

Jerry died unexpectedly at the age of 53 Sunday, though he had been having health problems in recent years.

At the time of his death, Jerry was vice chairman of MidSouth Bank's board of directors and chief operating officer, a position he held for the past three years. The beloved banker, who was also a founding partner in IND Media, was a longtime supporter of his alma mater.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Gerald "Jerry" Reaux Endowed Scholarship Fund at the UL Lafayette Foundation, P.O. Box 44290, Lafayette, LA, 70504-4290. Or visit the website at ullafayettefoundation.org.
