The group behind the design and construction of the Horse Farm property into a central park for Lafayette have unveiled a new fundraising program that will allow supporters of the project to leave their mark on the park: buy a plank on the boardwalk and dedicate to a loved one - or to yourself.

The "Buy a Board to Help Build the Park!" fundraisers seeks $100 donations, each of which allows the patron to have a 40-character (including spaces ... think Twitter) inscription placed on a boardwalk plank.

To participate, make a check out to Community Foundation of Acadiana, 1035 Camellia Blvd., suite 100, Lafayette, 70508. Include name, mailing address, phone number, email address and the inscription you would like placed on the board.

You can find out more by going to Lafayette Central Park's Facebook page or website.
