Home show touts 100-plus exhibitors

For more than five decades the Acadian Home Builders Association has delivered the only locally-produced home show in Acadiana and next week they'll do it again with more than a hundred exhibitors.

The Home, Garden and Lifestyle Show slated for March 8 and 9 at the Cajundome Convention Center will host dozens of exhibitors featuring the latest and greatest in products and services for the home. Think innovations in interior design, building trends, appliances, landscaping, furniture, flooring.

"Whether you're building a new home or updating your current one, the 2014 Home, Garden, & Lifestyle Show has everything you need under one roof," said Ginger Dykes, AHBA Events Coordinator. "There is a lot of variety in this year's show, and I think everyone will enjoy planning their dream home with us."

The year's show includes more than booths with an emphasis on helping attendees upgrade their lifestyles with special sections and events. A Healthy Living Pavilion, cooking classes with celeb chef Patrick Mould, DIY seminars and the first ever Courir Charité 5k a race benefiting local shelter-related charities in Acadiana are among the newest features.

The Home, Garden and Lifestyle Show is presented by the Acadian Home Builders Association and sponsored by Lafayette Utilities System. Other supporting companies include Atmos Energy, Farmers-Merchants Bank & Trust Co., Top's Appliances & Cabinetry, The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana, and Earl's Cajun Market.

Head to AHBA's site for more information.

The event is slated for Saturday March 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday March 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
