INDesign Awards entry deadline is next week

by Patrick Flanagan

Due to the chaos of Mardi Gras and the weather, the entry deadline for this year's INDesign Awards has been extended by one week.

"Next House" by the Building Institute was a 2013 INDesign Silver winner for residential architecture.

The INDesign Awards are presented each spring to honor exemplary projects in commercial and residential architecture and interior design, historic preservation and urban development. In addition to the luncheon event, winning commercial projects are profiled in ABiz and residential projects in IND Monthly.

Keynote speaker for this year's event is the French architect/historian Stephane Kirkland, author of Paris Reborn, a highly acclaimed and engrossing account of the transformation of Paris from a dirty, congested and dangerous city into one of Europe's most beloved landmarks during the tenure of Napoleon III. The event will begin at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at The Hilton Lafayette.

The INDesign Awards is also a kick-off event for INNOV8, a week-long series of events coordinated by The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce to foster inspiration and connectivity among innovators in our community.

Please contact Robin Hebert for Entry Forms by emailing [email protected] or by calling 337.769.8603.

The entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12. Eligible projects must have been completed in the 2013 calendar year in the parishes of Lafayette, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Landry, Acadia or Vermilion. A license is NOT required for residential projects. All commercial entries, however, must be submitted by an architect or interior designer licensed in the state of Louisiana.
