The New Orleans Saints have yet to make it official as of this writing, but popular wide receiver Lance Moore has reportedly been cut by the team to free up salary-cap space on the roster.

Moore confirmed as much just after 7 a.m. Friday when he tweeted a farewell to the city and its fans: "Thank you New Orleans for an amazing nine years. Who Dat Nation, the best on earth!!!" ESPN NFL beat reporter Adam Schefter later confirmed through sources that Moore, who was set to earn $3.8 million in 2014 and counted an additional $2.5 million against the team's salary cap, is done as a Saint.

Multiple other media sources including The Times-Picayune are reporting that the Saints are also shopping around running back Pierre Thomas, whose heroics during the team's 2009 Super Bowl run helped secure his status as an all-time fan favorite, as well as shifty running back Darren Sproles. Most of these moves by the Saints, it's widely believed, are being done to free up money to ultimately get All Pro tight end Jimmy Graham signed to a long-term deal.
