Abshire takes reins at LBA

Josette Gossen Abshire has taken over as executive director of the Lafayette Bar Association and Lafayette Bar Foundation.

Josette Gossen Abshire has taken over as executive director of the Lafayette Bar Association and Lafayette Bar Foundation.

Abshire has rejoined the LBA, where she previously served as marketing coordinator under longtime Executive Director Susan Holliday.

Abshire earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from LSU and served as assistant director of development for the American Red Cross Louisiana Capital Area Chapter before returning to her native Acadiana in 2001. She has also served as development director for Notre Dame High School in Crowley.

The LBA is a professional membership organization that serves the profession, its members and the community by promoting justice, professional excellence, respect for the rule of law and fellowship among attorneys and the court; the foundation is a non-profit corporation that provides community service programs, including Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers Pro Bono Project, Protective Order Panel and Homeless Experience Legal Protection.
