Beef Pho from Saigon Noodle is a blend of comfort and spice.

Saigon Noodle is a quaint little Vietnamese restaurant on Ambassador Caffery that will leave you craving more the minute you leave. Today's dish of the day is the Vietnamese beef noodle soup known as Pho.

A word to the wise, the portions are generous, so if you aren't starving, go for a small order. Every cut of beef imaginable can be served up in the broth-based soup with flavors of charred onion, star of anise, ginger, fennel and cinnamon.

If it's your first time trying Pho, stick with a brisket or eye round steak cut of beef - if you're looking for a bolder taste, try the ox tail or tripe added to your soup.

Every bowl of broth also comes with a crunchy veggie mix of cilantro, basil, bean sprouts and lime for dressing up the dish. Add a little chili sauce or sriracha from the lazy Susan on the table if spice is your thing.

During the Lenten season, Saigon Noodle is also serving a shrimp-based Pho.
