feral hogs flying over the treetops"
APR 7 Those dang reporters, writing stuff down and remembering it later. Mark Moseley writes on the Lens about Gov. Jindal's recent interview with Heritage Foundation, in which Bobby takes credit for a tax plan he opposed. Moseley compares Jindal's version of events to a "feral hog flying over the treetops." Well, there's a visual.

Big tipper campaign not so heartwarming
APR 7 Here's a story posted on local radio station 107.9 about a guy who is (allegedly) leaving big tips on restaurant bills around town. Sounds cool, right? More like creepy: he puts a hashtag on the (alleged) bill and then posts a picture on Instagram. It's doubtful any bank is processing this signature -- so is he really leaving big tips, or not? He says he won't give any interviews until he gets 5000 followers. Say what?

WaPo: lots of ideas, no 'sizzle'
APR 7 Bobby Jindal's presidential aspiration is the focus of this post on Washington Post's The Fix blog. He's positioning himself as the ideas candidate, but an ideas candidate hasn't ever won -- unless you count Clinton, and clearly Bobby is no Clinton, Chirs Cillizza writes. Bobby doesn't have the charisma needed to win the nomination, and the money people keep remembering that response to the State of the Union every time they reach for their wallets, Cillizza says.

APR 7 A demographer took a look at the US cities with the highest growth of college-degree-holding residents, and New Orleans topped the list, in a tie with San Antonio, Forbes reports here. Too bad so many of them are Starbucks swilling carpetbaggers who want the French Quarter quiet at night and second liners to get permits.

Jeb and Jindal promoting new republicans
APR 7 CNN's Political Ticker tells us that Bobby Jindal and a potential '16 rival, Jeb Bush, are featured in a new ad for the NewRepublican.org. In classic Alice in Wonderland style, this group was formed by a group of Republican "veterans" to refocus the party. Well, this will work. Because when you're talking about Republicans, nothing says "new" like the name "Bush."

So now he's going to hire a lawyer?
APR 7 American Zombie blogger Jason Berry posts a link to the Ray Nagin Legal Defense Fund. The website assures potential donors it is "independently administered" by a CPA, and will be used for "legal fees, experts costs, living and travel expenses related to clearing the Nagin family name." Living and travel expenses? Hmmm.

APR 7 When Bobby Jindal finally revealed his stand on Common Core, the timing couldn't have been worse. This story on the Picayune tells us that Jindal's comment in support of Common Core was featured in a national promo video the same day he announced his support of a Louisiana law that would repeal it.

APR 7 The Atlantic posts this gallery of work by AP Photographer Anja Niedringhaus, killed last week while working in Afghanistan. Her work captures a beautiful and terrible vision of the country, the people and the war.
