Fiber for Breakfast showcases the ways our community's healthcare system is now utilizing technology to provide better patient care. The breakfast also address the concept of what might be possible with ubiquitous broadband connectivity through networks like those provided by LUS Fiber, as well as local healthcare organizations that are taking advantage of such connectivity in innovative ways. Dough Hall: Innovation Engineering for Business Executives Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Center, 646 Cajundome Blvd. 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Innovation Engineering Executive Program is a two day training program that challenges a team of six executives to learn the fundamentals of how to lead and manage innovation as a system that delivers increased speed and decreased risk. The program is labeled as an executive summary course that will make senior executives knowledgeable about a new innovation mindset. The course stimulates this learning through interactive "lab" classes on day one and following up with a set of "application" classes on the second day. Admission to the course is $250.
Launch Hour: Startup Crash Course Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion St. 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Starting a business can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to the legal requirements. This presentation will highlight five key areas entrepreneurs should be aware of to avoid traps and pitfalls associated with their new business: protecting intellectual property, forming and financing your business, employment issues, negotiating contracts, and hiring professional service providers. Lunch will be provided for the first 25 people to arrive. Afterwards, presenters from the Launch Hour will be available to discuss their topics in depth with the audience.

The CajunCodeFest is a health care coding competition looking for the next innovative idea that takes place inside INNOV8 Lafayette from April 23-25. CajunCode Fest 3.0 commences with its first guest speaker Dr. Mark Blatt, worldwide medical director at Intel, who will be giving his thoughts on this year's theme "Aging in Place."
