APR 28 Looks like Louisiana is bringing up the rear again -- this time in terms of nerd-friendliness. Here's a post on CNET which ranks all states on their nerdiness. Bourbon Street noise ordinance goes down
APR 28 The latest attempt to sanitize the French Quarter has failed, NOLA Defender tells us in this post. A noise ordinance, aimed at controlling sound on Bourbon Street (not a typo) failed last week.

APR 28 A young woman arrested recently for driving drunk and flipping her Lexus couldn't leave well enough alone, the Picayune reports in this post. She tried to get state police to destroy evidence - by posing as a court employee on a cell phone call - and then by sending a follow-up email from her personal account. Yikes.
