Royal Teeth Invasion

by Amanda Bedgood

Live music and rock star styling

It was a warm Friday afternoon with the Festival buzz filling downtown, but we were at Maven for what I call a Royal Teeth pop up shop. The meteoric rising NOLA band with Lafayette roots gave the crowds on Main Street in River Ranch a few songs in the afternoon before the big show at Nite Town after Festival.

After the acoustic set Christina Barbier - the maven herself of Maven - dragged us kicking and screaming to join her to pull a few looks for Royal Teeth songstress and ethereal red-haired beauty Nora Patterson. (And by kicking and screaming we mean skipping and whistling through the store pulling kimonos in awe of Nora's ability to make everything look perfect.)

The stunning redhead walked away with a few options for the big Friday show thanks to Christina's near psychic ability to pick the right pieces for the right person (including one kimono because everyone needs at least one kimono in their life) ultimately deciding that, indeed, little black shorts and a cropped top with a kimono were the right look for the show that night. We couldn't agree more, Nora.
