Lafayette man sentenced to 14 years in child porn case

A federal judge has sentenced a 23-year-old Lafayette man to 14 years in prison for receiving child pornography on his computer.

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced a 23-year-old Lafayette man to 14 years in prison for receiving child pornography on his computer.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Haik on Thursday also ordered Gary Berry to 15 years of supervision once he's released and to register as a sex offender.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said in a release that Berry pleaded guilty in September to using file-sharing software to collect and distribute pornography.
