Party Girl

Party Girl

The holiday party reports are rolling in, y'all! Gachassin Law Firm's Silver Bell Soirée outdid itself this year, tripling attendance and almost quadrupling the amount of money raised for Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic. The soirée was moved to the Acadiana Center for the Arts this year, but à la carte still provided the amazing spread of salmon, capers and caviar and the ever-popular chocolate fountain. GTO & "D" Street Brass provided the holiday tunes, along with singer Jennifer Arceneaux, and Patrick and Elizabeth Little, Dr. Debra Crowe, Carolyn French, Nick Gachassin and Donna Begnaud were all humming along and cutting the rug. After all that dancing, everyone's feet were hurting, and Jeanette Alcon swears that Wanda Bourque gave her the best foot massage on the face of the earth at the end of the night. (But Phena Guidry gets the trophy for working the hardest, planning the soirée all year!) Wanda, if you're still doling out foot massages, you know where to find Party Girl.

The Eta Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha also got into the holiday and giving spirit with its National Panhellenic Council's Black Santa Project. The group hopped on a fire truck, along with Santa, to drop off presents in Lafayette's underserved communities. Donning pink and green Santa hats, AKAs were the perfect elves! They were rewarded with hot gumbo at the end of the night, a fitting treat as that fire truck ride was cold. The girls also hosted a Dirty Santa Party at The Brass Room to celebrate a successful year of service. "Filled with fun and food, the group is now recharged and ready for a bigger and better 2006," says member Terri Broussard.

Home Mortgage shared its Christmas cheer in the form of Cajun music, food and prizes. Employees arrived at the annual Christmas party decked in Santa hats and smiles, and the celebration could be heard from the street. In addition to employees, everyone from attorneys and appraisers to real estate agencies that Home Mortgage works with all year long were welcome. "We just wanted to say thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone," says Operating Manager Ed Boustany. Ditto for Party Girl, and think of me when you're ringing in 2006 and smooching at midnight!
