Lafayette Public Library Summer Reading Kickoff

10 a.m - 3 p.m.
School's out but learning never ends - get your crew signed up for the summer reading program at the library for the whole family. Children, teens and adults can participate in this summer-long program that promotes literacy. The kickoff event will feature face painting, crafts, magic shows and a presentation from the Zoo-Zoom mobile zoo. Parents can pick up info on library programs all around the parish at different branches during the summer.

Saturday, May 31

Kidical Mass Family Bike Ride
201 E. Vermilion St., Lafayette
1:00 p.m.
Cost: Free
This final bike month event hosted by Bike Lafayette will take families on a bike loop from Downtown, around Girard Park and end at the Parc Sans Souci splash pad. Snowballs and prizes will be at the park after the ride courtesy of Capitol Cyclery and Bike Lafayette. All children should be able to ride a bike independently or ride in a bike seat or child trailer.

Cost: $10 parking plus ride ticket purchase
Thrilling rides, carnival games and corn dogs - an annual tradition in Lafayette is one sure sign of summer. There is also plenty of free attractions like a petting zoo and acrobatic shows. Don't forget to let the kids join in the backyard circus and unleash their imaginations.
