Aswell: More on the Fox in the Henhouse
JUN 3 The chair of the Natural Resources committee of our esteemed legislature has even more problems, blogger Tom Aswell tells us in this post. Last week Tom told us about allegations of illegal dumping in Montana, and now we have some reports from closer to home. Yikes.

Finally, some decent press for the Guv
JUN 3 Next week the new season of Duck Dynasty premieres (that's right: run, don't walk, to the DVR) and here's a sneak peek at the upcoming shows on Heavy.com's entertainment blog. The first item on this list of awesomeness is about Bobby Jindal! There's a picture of him with the star of the show, and a clip of him defending Phil on Fox "News." Next up, there's an item on Phil battling beavers. K.

CB really doesn't like that Hillyer guy
JUN 3 Blogger CB Forgotston is definitely not running for president of the Quinn Hillyer fan club. And who can blame him? One wonders why on earth a columnist spends more ink dressing down a blogger (like CB) than he does criticizing politicians. Who's he working for, anyway?

Gambit's interview with Johnny Rotten
JUN 3 Until late Friday, a production of Jesus Christ Superstar was scheduled for the Lakefront Arena later this month. Now it has been cancelled, but as a consolation we have this interview in Gambit with John Lydon, also known as King Herod in the production - but better known to some of us as Johnny Rotten, lead singer for the Sex Pistols.

JUN 3 Blogger Ian McGibboney was interested in a recent list that ranked all of our states by how "loose" they are. In this post, he's taking a look at the criteria and discussing Louisiana's position -- which was in the top ten tightest states. Apparently, these guys never saw Mardi Gras.

Is Jindal sincere on Common Core?
JUN 3 US News & World Report predicted that Bobby Jindal's crawfishing on the Common Core curriculum would come back to haunt him, and that may have started already. This post on the Breitbart Report says parents question the governor's sincerity on the issue, and goes over the back-and-forth.

Crazy Crawfish on true leadership
JUN 3 Crazy Crawfish is blogging about leadership in this post, musing on what constitutes a true leader. Perfection is not on the list, he says, because true leaders are able to admit when they are wrong. He's also talking about Common Core, and some of his favorite targets - John White and Chas Roemer.

Poynter has news on the health of news
JUN 3 The Poynter Institute takes a look at the circulation numbers for several large newspapers, including the New York Times, the Houston Chronicle and USA Today. (The news actually is not bad!) The post wraps up with a (partial) examination of the Advocate-Picayune wars - with numbers only from the Pic. The Advocate didn't cough up any numbers, the post says.
