JUN 5 When one reads a story like this one in the Advocate, in which state education Superintendent John White seems to cast aspersions on his boss, Bobby Jindal, one wonders if it is "for real." The topic is, of course, the Common Core curriculum, which is the same thing BESE chair Chas Roemer was talking about in recent weeks when Roemer was casting aspersions on the governor. Are these guys really turning on each other? Hard to believe.

Advocate columnist running for office?
JUN 5 Blogger CB Forgotston wants us to know that his bud, Advocate columnist Quinn Hillyer, is running for political office over in Alabama. Which is where he lives - although he writes about Louisiana politics for the paper. Nice!

The rest of the story about the 'bobbycare' bill
JUN 5 The "Bobbycare" bill that sailed through the legislature didn't have much to do with Bobby Jindal at all, columnist Stephanie Grace tells us in this post. Well, we're not gonna see PR on this one
JUN 5 Here's a post on the Baton Rouge Business Report about a small business index released this week. Louisiana's numbers show some of the slowest growth in the nation, the post tells us. We must have missed this press release, right?

JUN 5 Jim Brown waxes nostalgic in this week's blog, remembering former Gov. John McKeithen, who died 15 years ago this week. McKeithen was governor of Louisiana during the turbulent 60s and was a catalyst for change, Brown remembers.

And in other news, it's Thursday
JUN 5 Here's a big surprise: the Jindal administration and treasurer John Kennedy are in a disagreement over what's in the budget, Jeremy Alford tells us on LaPolitics. Kennedy says there's a $40 million hole. The administration says there isn't. Surely somebody over there has a calculator or an abacus or something.
