WAPO: WE COULD SAVE SOME MONEY IF WE WEREN'T SO CROOKED!
JUN 19 Here's an interesting analysis of the recent study that found corrupt states tend to spend more money on constructing roads and bridges than on making sure people are well and educated, written by Niraj Chokshi in the Washington Post. In addition, Chokshi says, the study found that these states (yes, we're #2) could save big bucks by cutting down on corruption.

JUN 19 Arne Duncan lashed out at Bobby Jindal on national news Wednesday, calling our governor a "Common Core flip flopper," this post on the Daily Caller reports. Looks like the Secretary of Education has Bobby's number - he says it is because Bobby's more worried about running for President than he is about Louisiana's children.

CB: INK'S NOT DRY, CUTS START ALREADY
JUN 19 Blogger CB Forgotston is keeping on top of the mid-year cuts that Bobby Jindal says aren't happening. This time, they're coming early, he tells us, and unfortunately they're at another higher ed institution.

CRAWFISH: ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER
JUN 19 Crazy Crawfish is blogging about Common Core in this post, but with an interesting twist. Supporters and detractors seem to get the same amount of play in the media, in the interest of balance, he says. But they're not equivalent, he argues.
