SAY WHAT? DUCK DYNASTY GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS?
JUN 23 The millionaire West Monroe clan that's raking in even more dough by performing on a TV program apparently is also pulling down major coin from us taxpayers. This story on the Inquisitr claims that the show's producers and "stars" are getting at least $70K in government benefits per show. Well, nah.

LAMAR: THAT LIFE SUPPORT BILL IS JUST A MESS
JUN 23 Our favorite law school student, blogger Lamar White Jr., looks past the politics to examine the bill that would (the author thinks) require that brain dead pregnant women be kept alive until their babies are born. That's not really what the bill says, Lamar argues, but whether you agree or not it's not very well written, he says.

BOBBY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET ON THE TV
JUN 23 Coming off a visit to Iowa in which he came in 12th in a 10-man race, Bobby Jindal seems to be casting about desperately for something, anything, to get his name in the paper. According to this blog post from "the world's most dangerous beauty salon," he's channelingĀ TRACY CHAPMAN(well, not really) and talking about a revolution. HERE WE ARE LOOKING CRAZY IN THE NYT
JUN 23 This post in the New York Times takes a look at a "tradition" that's becoming just as New Orleanian as Big Freedia: dead people sitting down and having cocktails at their own funerals. Apparently, it's not unique to NOLA. Seems that there are crazy people over in Puerto Rico as well.

WAIT, THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT. IT AIN'T OIL?
JUN 23 This post on KEEL in Shreveport is an interesting one: it names the Louisiana company that makes the most revenue. And it's not an oil company. Maybe that's because the oil companies keep their headquarters, their top employees (and their money) elsewhere?

NATGEO ON THE POVERTY POINT WIN
JUN 23 National Geographic's News Watch blog covers our Poverty Point's winning of World Heritage Site recognition last week. The archaeological site is Louisiana's best-kept secret, but that won't be true for long, the magazine tells us.

DEBERRY: TROLLS AREN'T UNIQUELY AMERICAN
JUN 23 Columnist Jarvis DeBerry makes sure we all can sleep better at night: it's not just people commenting on KATC and KLFY threads who appear to be bat-crap crazy. It's all over the interwebz. Wait. On second thought, is this good or bad news?
