Gov. Bobby Jindal suspended the education department's testing contract as a back-door way to undermine Louisiana's use of the Common Core education standards and stop the purchase of testing material tied to the standards.
Superintendent of Education John White sent a memo to school superintendents Wednesday evening telling them the contract suspension means the summer retests can't be scored currently. White said schools should lock up the tests for now.
