Just when it appeared things couldn't get any worse for former St. Landry Parish School Board member Quincy Richard Sr. - who's serving a 33-month sentence in federal prison for soliciting a bribe from a candidate for superintendent - well, they just did.
Just when it appeared things couldn't get any worse for former St. Landry Parish School Board member Quincy Richard Sr. - who's serving a 33-month sentence in federal prison for soliciting a bribe from a candidate for superintendent - well, they just did.
According to a report from the Acadiana Advocate, the state Board of Ethics filed charges Monday against Richard related to his attempt to cash in on a $5,000 bribe of former superintendent candidate Joseph Cassimere.
Cassimere reported the bribe to the feds, and participated in an investigation that ultimately led to a federal indictment of Richard and former board member John Miller.
"That's kind of like having belts and suspenders. He's already in jail," attorney Quincy Richard Jr., who represented his father in the case, tells the Advocate.
