A memorial ride is being held Sunday in memory of cyclist Lon Lomas, who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Monday.

The ride is being organized by a group of community cycling organizations and will begin at 5 p.m. starting at the Corner Bar in Youngsville, according to a Facebook post.

The ride will be less than 10 miles at about a 10 mph pace, and will go from the Corner Bar to the site of Lomas' death, along La. 92 near Mermentau Road on the outskirts of Milton.

Lomas' wife and children will also be participating in the ride, and memorial t-shirts will be sold for $10 as a fundraising effort for his family.
