Fired Up

The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra's 30th anniversary season brings the heat.

The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra's 30th anniversary season brings the heat.

Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014

Celebrating three decades of bringing top-quality orchestral music to Lafayette - and successfully navigating the financial straits that have sunk many a community symphony - the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Mariusz Smolij is taking the staid classical music concert and pushing into the 21st century. Featuring collaborations with dancers, multi-media artists and of course virtuoso guest musicians, the ASO's fire-themed 30th season promises new heights. And the symphony is making classical music more accessible than ever with its popular chamber series held in the more intimate Moncus Theater at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
