The Lafayette Parish School Board was expecting to receive a formal list of charges Wednesday from the special attorney hired to investigate the superintendent, but it didn't happen as he was a no-call no-show for the meeting.

Last week, the attorney hired to conduct the investigation, Dennis Blunt, recommended the board move forward with termination proceedings against Cooper and was expected to appear at Wednesday's meeting.

According to a report from The Advocate, board President Hunter Beasley cited the stormy weather as the likely reason for the Baton Rouge attorney's absence.

Blunt made no attempt to notify the board that he wouldn't be in attendance, and no call was made to Blunt to find out his reasons for missing.

It's unclear when Blunt's appearance will be rescheduled, leaving the fate of Cooper's future with the school system up in the air.
