BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Republican congressional candidate Zach Dasher is getting an advertising assist from his famous "Duck Dynasty" family.

The TV clan's patriarch, Phil Robertson, and his wife Kay are featured in a new radio ad released Wednesday across the northeast Louisiana-based 5th District.

Dasher, a political newcomer, is one of eight candidates running against GOP incumbent Vance McAllister, who was elected with the "Duck Dynasty" family's support last year. But that was before McAllister was caught on video kissing a married staffer who wasn't his wife.

Since then, the Robertsons have found a new candidate to support.

In the radio ad, Phil Robertson says Dasher has been "officially and thoroughly vetted by the Robertson clan."

It's the first ad featuring the popular reality TV family. It's not expected to be the last.
