Just in time for Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, Louisiana Folk Roots has released Je M'Endors: Cajun and Créole Lullabies, an engaging collection that brings together two dozen talented South Louisiana musicians in often surprising and always satisfying couplings.

Musicians on the record include a handful of Grammy winners and some of the most beloved songwriters in Acadiana including Zachary Richard, Terrance Simien, Steve Riley, Ann Savoy and Kristi Guillory performing both original instrumentals and traditional lullabies. Produced by go-to engineer/producer Tony Daigle at his Lafayette studio, Je M'Endors was supported by a grant from the Lafayette General Foundation. A copy of the record will be given to the next 1,000 babies born at Lafayette General Medical Center, which has long played a lullaby over the hospital speaker system when a newborn arrives.

"This project expands and amplifies the meaning of that gesture," says Geoff Daily, executive director of the foundation. "This album is full of incredible regional music that will resonate with families everywhere."

Copies, $15 apiece, are available at Louisiana Folk Roots' website.
