Justin Centanni has pulled down another endorsement for his bid for District 6 of the school board, this time from BESE board member Holly Boffy.
Justin Centanni has pulled down another endorsement for his bid for District 6 of the Lafayette Parish 
School Board, this time from Holly Boffy, Acadiana's rep on the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
"I am so proud of Justin for stepping up to make a difference in the lives of our children as he seeks as a seat on the Lafayette Parish School Board," Boffy says in a statement issued Friday. "He brings financial expertise and professionalism to the table, and that coupled with his perspective as an engaged parent will guide his work as a school board member. I know he will make students and the teachers who educate them his top priority."
Centanni is a 37-year-old assistant vice president/database analyst for IberiaBank. He's married to the former Marie DesOrmeaux, and they have three young children, two who attend Myrtle Place Elementary.
Centanni is running against Kathleen Espinoza Schott for the District 6 seat being vacated by Greg Awbrey.
Along with Boffy's endorsement, Centanni is also receiving backing from two of Acadiana's Republican state Reps: Stuart Bishop and Nancy Landry.
"It's time we had someone like Justin Centanni step forward to help turn our School Board around," says Bishop in a statement. "Justin will be a strong and independent advocate for District 6, bringing expertise and civility to the board and truly representing his community by engaging all stakeholders in discussions, listening to concerns of parents and teachers, and ultimately putting the needs of our students first. I'm proud to support Justin, we can't afford to keep the status quo."
And here's Landry's statement explaining her support for Centanni's candidacy:

As parents with children in Lafayette Parish public and private schools, Justin and Marie Centanni are committed to improving the quality of education. We need respected business leaders like Justin Centanni on the School Board to re-focus education on the needs of students.
