MONROE, La. (AP) - Severe storms that moved across Louisiana caused widespread damage and power outages.

Entergy says it will likely be Thursday night before all power is restored.

As of early Tuesday morning, 34,000 customers are without power in Ouachita, while 2,400 are without power in Jackson Parish and 1,000 in Morehouse Parish.

Most of the damage Monday occurred in the Monroe area of northeast Louisiana.

There are many trees down, including large trees on top of houses throughout Monroe.

Most of the damage in Monroe is concentrated in the Garden District, where trees and limbs damaged or destroyed homes and blocked most streets.

Most other locations around the state received tree and power line damage.

No injuries were reported.
