Putting the kibosh on Curious Goods' sell of "Mr. Miyagi" has done little to curb the abuse of synthetic marijuana among locals.

Putting the kibosh on Curious Goods' sell of "Mr. Miyagi" has done little to curb the abuse of synthetic marijuana among locals.

According to The Daily Advertiser, 18 young people have been sent to the hospital for overdoses related to the use of synthetic marijuana over the last two weeks.

One case resulted in severe kidney damage, while others involved hallucinations and strange behaviors.

"[T]hey did bizarre stuff that they wouldn't normally do and ended up in the hospital," Capt. Dwayne Prejean of the Lafayette PD's narcotics division tells The Advertiser. "You never know if it will be a marijuana high, or if [it] will be an Ecstasy high or if it will be an LSD high."
