Arnaudville/Grand Coteau host Seven Mile Yard Sale

A seven-mile yard sale will stretch from Arnaudville to Grand Coteau tomorrow. The sale, which takes place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., will run along Highway 93 East and take place throughout both towns. Mavis Fruge, owner of Un Petite Cadeau in Arnaudville and one of the organizers of the event, estimates some 250 vendors will be on hand. “We’re getting calls from all over the state,” she says.

Being a vendor is free of charge and as easy as bringing a foldout table to set up along the sale route. Fruge says a number of local residents are taking part in the sale. “We went door to door encouraging residents along Highway 93 East to participate,” she says. “We have guys with vegetables. We have ladies who are cleaning out their house. We have artisans. There’s more and more people participating.” This is the second seven mile yard sale Fruge has helped organize for the area. Last year, the event drew in an estimated 3,000 people. Fruge says they are now hoping to turn the seven-mile yard sale into a seasonal event, with the next one already scheduled for July 19.
