Darren Ryder has joined KATC-TV3 as director of sales, replacing Bonnie Robert-Will, who retired at the end of the year after a decade with the company. Ryder assumed the sales leadership role Jan. 12 and will manage KATC’s sales department for its television properties in Lafayette.
Ryder most recently worked as general sales manager for Charter Media in Huntsville, Ala. Before that, he held other media sales leadership positions with Charter in the Birmingham, Ala., market and with Time Warner Media in Dallas and Waco, Texas. A Lake Charles native, Ryder has a bachelor of science degree in broadcasting from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.
He and his wife Mechelle have four daughters and will live in Youngsville.
The local television station is privately owned and operated by Cordillera Communications, the TV division of Evening Post Industries based in Charleston, S.C. KATC Communications includes ABC affiliate KATC-TV3, KATC-CW and KATC.COM.
