Bill Cosby's Lafayette appearance is still a go

Comedian Bill Cosby is back on the road and will be heading to Lafayette in February, despite allegations of drugging and sexually assaulting dozens of women over the last several decades.

Comedian Bill Cosby is back on the road and will be heading to Lafayette in February, despite allegations of drugging and sexually assaulting dozens of women over the last several decades.

The 73-year-old Cosby resumed his tour Wednesday in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, attracting a small contingent of protestors who heckled his fans and carried signs reading “Rape is no joke.” Cosby had put his tour on hold in November with the resurgence of rape allegations by close to 20 women. He has yet to speak out on the allegations.

According to this report from The Advocate, Wednesday’s performance, despite the protestors outside, proved a success, with the comedian receiving “frequent laughter,” “no interruptions” and “a standing ovation from his Canadian audience.”

Cosby is slated to appear in Lafayette at the Heymann Performing Arts Center on Feb. 27.
