A full slate of workshops and other events centered around the comprehensive master plan, AKA PlanLafayette, will take place next week at sites around the Hub City. Events include workshops and presentations featuring national speakers at venues ranging from the Acadiana Center for the Arts and Vermilionville, to the Rosa Parks Transporation Center and River Oaks. Sponsoring partners include UL Lafayette, the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, The705 and the Downtown Development Authority.
The week kicks off on Feb. 4 at Louisiana Immersive Technology Enterprise with “Reinvent the Hub City: Improving your community through transit.” The opening day concludes at the AcA with “Revitalize Neighborhoods: The Future of Transportation in Lafayette: How our city can defy the odds by designing streets for more than just cars” featuring a presentation by transportation engineer Peter Swift.
