Artmosphere hearing set for Lafayette

by Walter Pierce

The state Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control will hold an administrative hearing for Artmosphere Bistro on Feb. 25 in the council auditorium at City Hall in Lafayette. The 9:30 a.m. hearing before ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert will center around Artmosphere’s well-documented difficulty in meeting a state requirement mandating that, as a restaurant with a liquor license, 51 percent of Artmosphere’s sales be for food as opposed to alcohol.

“Because of the amount of local interest in this business’ permit, ATC will hold the hearing in Lafayette rather than Baton Rouge to accommodate those who would like to attend,” Hebert says in a news release announcing the hearing.
