WE'RE BROKE, AND THIS IS WHAT WE SPEND MONEY ON?
FEB 13 WVUE Investigative reporter Lee Zurik continues his look at Louisiana's doubtful tax incentive programs with this post about so-called Hollywood South. Should we really be plugging funding holes in a straight-to-DVD Miley Cyrus movie? Our coast is crumbling, our universities are dying, and this is where our money goes? To millionaires?

PUNITIVE EDUCATION REFORMS COLLAPSING, DESHOTELS SAYS
FEB 13 Blogger Mike Deshotels is writing about Common Core in this post, in the context of the larger "blame and shame" efforts of alleged education reformers. 'DECORATIVE TITLES, UNCLEAR DUTIES'
FEB 13 Blogger Tom Aswell takes a look at the payroll of the executive branch of the state, and folks who make lots of money for uncertain reasons. He's also doing a mea culpa, because after another review of the number, he was giving one special someone too much credit.

COMMENT FROM FRIEND OF MURDERED STUDENTS 'RIDICULOUS'
FEB 13 This post on the Advocate's politics blog illustrates Bobby Jindal's absolute refusal to take responsibility for anything he says or does. The friend of three Muslim students murdered in North Carolina pointed out that some media (Fox News) and one governor (Bobby Jindal) are contributing to a dehumanization of Muslims. The governor's compassionate response? "Ridiculous."

FEB 13 The Red Shtick does it again with this (satirical?) post about our favorite delusional governor. Seems Bobby Jindal was at a press conference and wouldn't answer any questions, he just kept talking on and on about whatever was on his mind, so the reporters assumed that he spontaneously lost his hearing.
Friday's Blogs from the Bog!
We're broke, but we can afford to fund a straight-to-video Miley Cyrus flick? Great! Also today, Jim Brown on Dean Smith and the crumbling "reform" movement.
