JINDAL, ETHNIC PRIDE AND SILICON VALLEY MONEY
FEB 20 This is an interesting post on the San Fran Chronicle about how Bobby Jindal's recent comments on assimilation are playing over in Silicon Valley. (Hint: Not well.) Many of those (really rich, really Indian) folks are finding his comments "condescending at best, and insulting at worst." That's the problem with narrow, focused pandering, isn't it?

FEB 20 A judge's ruling has shut down the Big Oil levee board lawsuit (for now?), leaving the board with the decision about what to do next. This post on The Lens outlines some of the views, as well as some of the possibilities, at play in that decision.

NATIONAL INTEREST: PRESIDENT JINDAL? MEH.
FEB 20 Here's an interesting post on National Interest's website that sums up our Bobby Jindal rather neatly, to wit: He's not popular with anyone here, even Republicans, and he's criticized as being opportunistic. He can't seem to have a conversation with anyone - just sits there and parrot his talking points, the post says. But it tells only half the story; sure, Jindal claims he was elected to make "big changes," and he did: he changed a billion-dollar surplus into a two-billion-dollar deficit. Wow!

NO RECORDS, OH WAIT, HERE THEY ARE
FEB 20 Blogger Tom Aswell tells of his travails in simply trying to get some members of Bobby Jindal's administration to cough up some travel records. Why is it so hard to release to the public records of bills paid by the public? This man is required to file a lawsuit to view public records? Really?

DESHOTELS LOOKING FOR DEFENDERS
FEB 20 Blogger Mike Deshotels is blogging about the campaign against public education in this post, asking parents and educators to get involved in a move to preserve it before it is permanently crippled.
Friday's Blogs from the Bog!
The San Fran Chronicle looks at Bobby, Silicon Valley and moolah. Also today in La La Land, Deshotels looking for education warriors and CB tells a legislator to get off his lawn.
