Joseph “Bobby” Richard, pastor of Hope Alive Freedom Church, has announced that he will seek the District 7 seat on the Lafayette City-Parish Council in the fall election. The seat, covering parts of the southeast Lafayette and Broussard, is currently held by Don Bertrand, who is expected to seek re-election.
Richard will officially announce his candidacy at a kickoff rally at the church on Friday.
According to a press release issued Tuesday afternoon, Richard is “running on a conservative platform of “People First” and will campaign on three planks: traffic, taxes and “trajectory.”
