FORGOTSTON TO MEDIA: YOU KEEP USING THAT WORD...
MAR 4 This post on CB Forgotston's blog is one that should be read carefully by several folks who sit in big buildings in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. In it, he's reminding us of two guys who were christened as "Reformers" by the media before they even took office - Bobby Jindal and Ray Nagin. Maybe next time we should wait and see what they actually do, versus taking their campaign rhetoric as gospel, CB advises.

JINDAL, CRUZ TO PANDER TO THE PEWS
MAR 4 This post on the Des Moines paper reveals that Bobby Jindal and Ted Cruz will be trying to out-Christian each other soon at a Right Wing prayer event in Iowa. Cruz will be speaking at a lunch, but Bobby will be sharing dinner time with conservative radio host Dennis Prager. Those two should get along great - because Prager is known for criticizing the "unhealthy effect intellectually and morally" of America's higher ed system and Bobby has done just about all one man can to destroy Louisiana's.

YOU KNOW WHAT THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS THINKING, RIGHT?
MAR 4 Here's a story on ABC News that is sure to cause a stir: apparently a deadly bacteria being studied at a Tulane primate lab has, er, escaped. Animals not part of the study have been found to be infected with the deadly bacteria, the story reports. The guys in charge say nothing to worry about. (These are the guys who lost it, right? Then how do they know?) Can't you just hear people in other states: "Why on earth did anybody give this stuff to Louisiana??"

ZOMBIE'S NOTES ON THE DEFAMATION SUIT
MAR 4 Blogger Jason Brad Berry brings us up to date on the latest in the defamation suit filed by an attorney removed from the BP claims process. Her suit has been transferred to the BP settlement court - for some reason - and she and her attorney are (understandably) unhappy about it, he writes.

ASWELL'S CARTOONIST DOES IT AGAIN
MAR 4 The political cartoonist who often (and anonymously) graces the Louisiana Voice blog posts this one about Bobby Jindal's "I'm really just a Christian white guy" fantasy at CPAC recently. The most ridiculous part is true, but possibly that bit about Bri-Wi is satire. Possibly.

MAR 4 When you read a story like this one, in the Advocate, that records the wailing of state Superintendent of Education John White about Bobby Jindal's planned budget cuts, you have to ask yourself: If the state Department of Education were cut, would that really be a bad thing? Hmmm.
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
CB goes all Inigo Montoya on Louisiana's media: "You keep using that word..." and asks them to hold off labeling anybody before we see what they actually are. Also today in La La Land, Tulane let an ultra-bad bug loose, and Bobby's headed to a pander-fest in Iowa with Cruz.
