MANN: LOOK AT ALL THOSE WHITE PEOPLE
MAR 11 This post from (the evil, EVIL) Bob Mann takes a look at the diversity - or stunning lack thereof - on Bobby Jindal's higher education boards. The only board that has any diversity is the one that governs Southern University, he says, and it's not really all that diverse because they're all men. Actually, almost everyone serving on any higher education governing board is a man, he says. What - is Bobby scared of girls? Or maybe just girls with books?

MAR 11 Here's a (depressing) clickbait map from ThrillList that shows what every state is good at. Could we have the most dog owners, like Arkansas, or the fewest fat people, like Colorado, or the highest percentage of homes with indoor plumbing? (Wait - what?) Noooooo. All we're good at is keeping our offspring at home: we have the highest percentage of residents who were born here. What does that mean?

MAR 11 Blogger Tom Aswell takes up where he left off in yesterday's post about the USA Today piece that apparently was written by someone who was bribed, delusional or high. Bobby Jindal is always trying to spin reality to fit his own version of the world, and this piece was not the first time it has happened, Aswell says.

TESTING IS THE CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF OUR TIME
MAR 11 This post on the Edushyster blog is an interesting discussion about standardized tests, their use on children who live in poverty, and what it all means. It's a must-read for anybody who plans to live in America, because while some may wish poor people would just go away, that's not going to happen. Unless, of course, we provide their children with a decent education so we can end poverty. Nah.

MAR 11 This post on NOLA Defender reveals that John White, currently state Superintendent of Education, is taking the reins of a non-profit that pushes 'reform' like Common Core and other standardized test-obsessed policies. Could this signal he's weary of his (alleged) scuffle with Bobby Jindal's political aspirations over Common Core?

MAR 11 Hey, you know that letter to Iran that some GOP guys sent, which anybody who can read the US Code knows is a prosecutable offense? Bobby Jindal says it was all his idea, the New York Times reports here. It appears that he called them up to let them know - but listen, he's not looking for credit. Nope.

IF THE REFORM IS VALID, WHY MUST YOU CHEAT?
MAR 11 More and more, parents are becoming restive regarding the extreme and unrelenting focus on standardized testing in public schools. This is not going to help: blogger Mike Deshotels is detailing how the state Department of Education is rigging the data (well, the data they release, anyway) to try to manipulate the response to the brand of "reform" that assumes standardized tests are a panacea.
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
White People. Look at all those white people, Bob Mann says. Also today in La La Land, we've got some data analysis from Mike Deshotels and Bobby's trying to take credit for that crazy (and some say treasonous) letter to Iran.
