MAR 12 Having his job threatened seems to be doing wonders for Bob Mann, who is cranking out some good blog posts lately. In this one, he's taking a look at Bobby Jindal's exclusive relationship with Grover Norquist, the anti-tax lobbyist who has a lot more to say about what happens in Louisiana than you do.

CARVILLE: LSU AT MERCY OF BUFFOONS
MAR 12 Here's James Carville's letter to the editor of the LSU Reveille about the university and the legislature. Everybody's so worried about maintaining their "tax virginity" that they've forgotten (or ignored) where their real allegiance should be - to Louisiana and her citizens. They're a bunch of buffoons, he says. He says a lot of other stuff too. Because, Carville.

WELL, WE KNOW IT'S NOT FALLING FOR YOU, ROLFE
MAR 12 This post on the Baton Rouge Business Report is a smug repudiation of any reporting of the devastating cuts that the Jindal administration has dealt to our higher education institutions. Rolfe McCollister, a Jindal bud and member of the LSU Board of Supervisors (he's the guy who arranged that prayer rally), assures us that there is nothing to see here, move along. So, if we don't think cutting higher ed by 80% in the space of a few years is a good thing, we're populists? Really? We know Rolfe had drunk that Jindal KoolAid, but dang.

MAR 12 Here's a post on the Cosmopolitics blog (thanks to Bob Mann for reminding us of this blog) that's mostly about Tom Cotton's bone-headed letter to Iran. It's also a little bit about our own Bobby Jindal, who as we all know by now is trying to get on the TV by talking about Cotton. Jindal's attempt to insert himself is "singularly stupid," mostly because he doesn't understand the issues at play here.

MAR 12 This post on the American Spectator blog is amazing for a couple of reasons. First, it succinctly breaks down some of the problems Bobby Jindal has (beyond a complete lack of charisma and inability to answer a direct question from any media, anywhere, any time) in seeking the White House. Second, it's written by Scott McKay, but it's not ridiculously one-sided; it is actually well-reasoned, and he hasn't attacked anybody personally. So he's been capable of this all along? Disappointing.

NEWS FLASH: ALL-MALE, EXCLUSIVE GROUP HAS PROBLEMS
MAR 12 Here's a post on the Picayune collecting all the nasty bits about the SAE frat in Louisiana. Apparently, the Louisiana variety has had issues as well, albeit not limited to race problems. Huh. You don't say?
Thursday's Blogs from the Bog!
Bob Mann has something to say about that bromance between Grover and Bobby - it's costing us. A lot. Also today in La La, Carville with a colorful metaphor and neocon analysis from Cosmopolitics.
