DA PLANE! DA PLANE!

MAR 27 If Bobby Jindal doesn't get elected president (If?) then he could sign on as staff on Fantasy Island. In this letter to the editor of the New York Times, Jindal takes issue with a recent post on the paper that described his political implosion. Jindal says he's made government smaller and that we're all more prosperous than we've ever been, and it's all because of him. Oy.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL POSTER ARTIST SHOCKED

MAR 27 Here's a story in the Advocate about a radio interview with the mom and agent (OK) of the artist who created a poster for the strawberry festival that featured two black-face children in it. His mama says the artist is shocked (shocked, I tellya) over the furor, and describes his work as "innocent." Huh.

SO NOW HE'S PANDERING TO JOCKS?

MAR 27 Here's an odd story on MSNBC about Bobby Jindal's workout philosophy. Seems they caught up with him (probably after he called them) at a gym in Manhattan (you know, that's near Sicily Island) while he was working out recently. But hey, he's not trying to get away from a wonk image or anything, he does this to stay healthy. It's a good example of one of Bobby's main problems: everything he says sounds insincere.

BROWN: WE COULD HAVE THE FIRST PRIMARY - IF WE HOLD A BAKE SALE

MAR 27 Jim Brown is blogging about the Louisiana presidential primary - or lack thereof. He's making the argument that the legislature should cough up the money to pay for it, so that we can make some hay with candidates who will spend a lot of money here campaigning. That's an interesting theory, but is there really anyone in politics who sees Louisiana as a microcosm of the nation's political landscape?

MAR 27 Here's another creepy story out of New Orleans, on the heels of the video of a goat being beheaded: a body was found "impaled" on an iron fence in a Mid City shopping center, the Picayune reports here. What the heck is going on down there?
