CB: LEGES WORK TO PLEASE KING NORQUIST
MAY 28 Blogger CB Forgotston tells us about a convoluted tax credit plan passed by the Senate earlier this week. CB says the legislation was passed to please Grover Norquist, the lobbyist who tries to stick to the shadows but has an iron grip on many members of our legislature and our governor. Ever wonder what it would be like if anybody over in Baton Rouge -- anybody -- worked on something to please the people of Louisiana?

ASWELL: THEY'RE CAMPAIGNING ON OUR DIME
MAY 28 Blogger Tom Aswell posted two stories on politicians using our tax dollars to campaign Wednesday; the first was about David Vitter using his franking privileges to campaign for governor, the next about Bobby Jindal using Louisiana's website to campaign for president.

BROWN: HERE'S A BLUEPRINT FOR THE NEXT GOVERNOR
MAY 28 Jim Brown is blogging about the governor's race, which is turning out to be so boring it's tough to stay awake during the "debates." Brown has some ideas to jazz it up - he's come up with a list of promises for the next governor to make.

DAYNE: JINDAL'S ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY
MAY 28 Blogger Dayne Sherman writes about Bobby Jindal's "hate the gays" law, as he calls it. Bobby's thinking he's going to get mileage out of that executive order, and he's right, Dayne says, but not the kind he wants.

NJ: HOW IT COULD ALL GO WRONG FOR VITTER
MAY 28 Here's an interesting post on the National Journal about our governor's race. It gets into two African-American men who might be considering a run, and opines as to what might happen if they do - and why. It's not a new rumor that the GOP is pushing for another Dem to run, especially a black one, to try to get Dardenne into the runoff with Vitter, but it is still an interesting one.

DEBERRY: NEBRASKA ENDED THE DEATH PENALTY
MAY 28 Columnist Jarvis DeBerry writes about Nebraska's historic vote Wednesday to override a veto of a bill that abolished the state's death penalty. Their governor said he was "appalled" that the state sanctioned killing of citizens was abolished - but why's he worried about it? They haven't executed anyone in almost 20 years. Maybe that governor is just engaging in political rhetoric. We have no idea what that is like.
Thursday's Blogs from the Bog!
CB says our legislators are kissing Grover's uh, ring. Also today, Aswell nails two politicians for campaigning on our dime and Dayne says Bobby's on the wrong side of history.
