JUN 12 Gambit has an entertaining post here about some back-and-forth between a Congressman from Colorado and our own John Fleming, who says that medical marijuana is "a joke." Since Fleming is a doctor, that might give you an idea of how he feels about his patients. But we digress. In the back and forth, the gentleman from Colorado assured us that he won't be sending federal troops down here to stop our crawfish smoking. K.

JUN 12 Fusion magazine posts this piece on the Angola 3, and in particular the last of them, Albert Woodfox. Earlier this week a federal court ordered his immediate release after 43 years in solitary confinement. Louisiana is fighting that order.

CB: LOOK OUT FOR LAST MINUTE SHENANIGANS
JUN 12 Blogger CB Forgotston says we need to keep an eye out for last-minute bills that might try to do things that can't tolerate a full vetting during the session. As the session wraps, it's likely that some nasties will be slipped in, and CB predicts at least one will have something to do with Mike Edmonson and his retirement.

JUN 12 This guest post on Louisiana Voice is an interesting take on what Bobby Jindal's real motivation is. Many of us just can't believe the guy is so nutty as to think he's got a chance of getting into the White House - without a tour ticket, that is - and so have been wondering what he's really after. This is as good a guess as any!

NATIONAL MEDIA INTERESTED IN BOBBY'S TRAVEL
JUN 12 The International Business Times reports here on our leges' complaints about Bobby Jindal's traveling. The paper also gives the amount spent by taxpayers on Bobby's recent travels, and mentions the fact that he came in last in the most recent poll, calling his candidacy a long shot. But hey, it's national press, and that's what counts, right?
