JUN 17 The LSU student newspaper, The Reveille, reports here on the LSU student government association's grading of legislators on the last session. One interesting tidbit here - and Sen. Karen Carter Peterson pointed it out on her Twitter account - is that the student in charge of the grading system's last name is familiar (Faircloth) and he's related to someone we know. Now - where have we heard that name before? No, wait, don't tell us. Hmmm.

SLATE ON JINDAL'S 'MIND BENDINGLY STUPID' MOVE
JUN 17 Slate joins the ranks of national online media commenting upon Bobby Jindal's complicated tap dance that (he claims) balances the budget without raising taxes. This one is a little different, though, because it's the mag's economics and business correspondent writing it. It's also entertaining, with the author calling Jindal the "spirit of hopeless presidential ambition incarnate."

JUN 17 Blogger CB Forgotston gives a list here of the reasons why the last session didn't solve any budget problems. They're all still there, he says, and includes a whole section here marked "reality." Huh - nobody's worried about THAT.

COMPANY CLAIMS BIAS IN SELECTION PROCESS
JUN 17 The Advocate reports here on claims from one company that another firm got preferential treatment from Bobby Jindal's administration during a selection process. Since this is a contract related to the state's self-funded health insurance plan, that makes the situation doubly interesting. What, exactly, is going on here?

PIC ON JAY DUCOTE'S FOOD NETWORK STAR PROGRESS
JUN 17 Here's the Picayune's story on the latest episode of Food Network Star and how Baton Rouge food blogger Jay Ducote is doing (spoiler alert: he's doing great) Ducote shares a bit about how he feels things are going at this point in the competition.

JUN 17 Bob Mann gives his take here on the (ridiculous? Naive?) report card given by LSU's student government association to our legislators. The leges who supported the "nonsense on a stick" known as SAVE got As, while those who called Bobby Jindal out on his bull - uh, questionable financial scheme, got Fs. Too bad nobody at LSU is teaching these kids how to think on their own.
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
LSU's student government steps in it - but maybe learned something about politics and influence? Nah. Also today, CB, Mann and Slate on Bobby Jindal's "mind bendingly stupid" move. Huh - there's only one?
