With hurricane season approaching June 1, The Louisiana Emergency Medical Unit and the Junior League of Lafayette are partnering to compile a database of volunteers who can help out in the event of a major storm hitting the area. Volunteers of all kinds are needed, though LEMU is especially looking for drivers with experience driving trailers. A meeting kicking off the effort will be held tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 19 at 8 a.m. at the United Way office at 215 E. Pinhook. For more info, call 852-8771.
