NYT ON A LOUISIANIAN WE CAN BE PROUD OF. NOT.
JUL 8 The New York Times posts this profile of a Caddo Parish prosecutor who says we need to kill more people. He's referring to the legalized murder of citizens in the name of justice or vengeance, like this guy maintains. Shoot, take your pick. After all, does it matter?

ANOTHER VIEW OF JINDAL'S ETHNIC IDENTITY CRISIS
JUL 8 This is an interesting analysis of Bobby Jindal and his very public crisis of identity and ethnicity on the Eurasia Review. The English is not perfect, but it sure is interesting to see another view of us and our politics of ethnicity.

JUL 8 Blogger CB Forgotston posts a funny one here - it's a press release from the Governor's office that misspelled Bobby Jindal's name. Seriously?

ASWELL: SPEED LIMITS MAKE NO SENSE
JUL 8 Blogger Tom Aswell muses here on the crazy way speed limits are set on Louisiana roads (no kidding, Tom) and about the disparity in gas prices across the state.

BEAM ON THE CONFEDERATE QUESTION
JUL 8 Columnist Jim Beam writes here about the issue of how much public tribute there should be to the Confederacy. Opponents want a cleansing, and proponents say it's our heritage of state's rights (That's not HOW IT HAPPENED, but OK) Neither side is all right, Beam says; this is part of our history and so we need to talk about where we go from here.

BOBBY DOESN'T SEE RACE OR CLASS - SAY WHAT?
JUL 8 Bobby Jindal is up in New Hampshire, telling folks that he doesn't see ethnicity (unless, apparently, he's looking at a painting of himself) and he doesn't see economic class (unless, apparently, he's looking at people who need health care). The comments on this New Hampshire TV station's post are hilarious, especially the guy who warns these folks to be wary of anything Jindal says and to "count your spoons."
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
The NYT profiles a north Louisiana prosecutor who wants to "kill more people." (Nice, right?) We've got an interesting analysis of Jindal's ethnic identity crisis and CB posts a funny one, and, as he often says "you can't make this up!"
