AUG 4 As this post in the Business Insider tells us, someone stood up for us Monday. She stood up to (what is certain to be) some vicious online (and in person) attacks from a gun lobby that's willing to do just about anything to preserve its profit margin. She did what none of our politicians seem to have the intestinal fortitude to do, and she said: No more. That's right - the comedienne who made the movie that happened to be playing in the Grand was the one who stood up. What is wrong with this picture?

AUG 4 Writer John M. Barry posts this opinion piece in the New York Times about New Orleans, 10 years after Katrina. AUG 4 The Red Shtick reviews a "performance" by disbarred Baton Rouge attorney Eric Guirard in this post. The song is sexist, misogynist and, we're sorry to say, repetitive and lame. The video is worse. And Guirard might want to get his license back so he can sue whoever did that plastic surgery, because - euw.
Tuesday's Blogs from the Bog!
Why is it that a comedienne has the courage to say what none of our politicians will say? Good question. Also today, Jay Ducote's still in the running and the Advocate can't seem to find a news story.
